If you're looking for a candle that is eco-friendly, sustainable and gives off a great scent throw, a coco soy wax is what you want to look for. Read on to find out why coco soy is the best choice for candles.

At NOULA we're always excited to talk about candles, being one of, if not our favourite thing in the world! We love how they can instantly set the mood and transform any room into a cozy and relaxing space, definitely needed in this ever stressful world. But, have you ever wondered what kind of wax is used in your favourite candles and if it's environmentally friendly, non toxic and generally okay to be breathing in? Well we have some answers for you, look no further as to why coco soy is the best wax for candles and why we chose to use it for our candles.

Why Choose Coco Soy Wax?

As you might have guessed, coco soy wax is a natural blend of coconut wax and soy wax, and is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a sustainable and eco-friendly option. The coconut wax is derived from the meat of the coconut, and soy wax is made from soybeans. Both are renewable resources that are biodegradable, making coco soy wax an eco-friendly choice. Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, coco soy wax doesn't release harmful toxins into the air when burned. It's also carbon neutral, meaning that it doesn't contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Pretty good right!?

Coconut wax is produced in a more eco-friendly way compared to other wax options. The process involves cold-pressing the coconut meat to extract the oil, which is then hydrogenated to turn it into wax. This process is less harmful to the environment and doesn't produce harmful byproducts.

Coconut and soy wax candles are the perfect choice for anyone looking for a sustainable and eco-friendly option. Made from natural ingredients, these candles offer a variety of benefits over traditional paraffin wax candles. One of the most significant advantages of using coconut and soy wax is that they are renewable and sustainable. Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, coconut and soy wax are plant-based, making them a more environmentally friendly option. The process of making coconut and soy wax candles is relatively simple. Soy wax is made from soybean oil, while coconut wax is made from the meat of coconuts. Both waxes are natural, renewable, and sustainable, making them the perfect choice for anyone looking for a more eco-friendly option.

Long-Lasting Burn Time

Coco soy wax has a longer burn time than other types of wax, making it an excellent choice for candles. It burns at a cooler temperature, which means that it lasts longer and produces a more even burn. This means you can enjoy your favourite candle for longer with coco soy wax candles, also saving you money too as you haver to buy them less frequently (unless you're candle obsessed like we are and go through many, many, many candles and wax melts a week at NOULA HQ and at home!)

Holds Fragrance Well

One of the great things about coco soy wax is that it holds fragrance well. This means that your candles will have a stronger scent and will last longer. Since the wax has a lower melting point, it releases the fragrance more slowly, resulting in a longer-lasting and more enjoyable scent. This was really important for us to get right, we wanted that candle that had a good scent throw cold as well as whilst burning. I've been so disappointed with some candles, when the scent is too strong, makes your eyes water, causes headaches and leaves you opening all the doors and windows for some fresh air. Conversely candles that barely permeate a room are just as disappointing, you end up practically burning your nose trying to get close enough to get a whiff of anything resembling a scent.

We knew when starting NOULA, that there was a lot more to it than most would think, lots of things can go wrong. We experimented with various waxes and we found that coco-soy was not only our favourite to work with but also had the best properties from an environmental stand point as well as quality of candle scent and throw.

Coco soy wax can be more expensive than other types of wax, such as paraffin wax or pure soy. However, the benefits of using an eco-friendly and sustainable wax outweigh the cost and we will always, always, always prefer to spend a little more to make candles that are safe to burn!

Conclusion

So, there you have it, folks - coconut soy wax is the best choice for candles, in our opinion.

By using coconut and soy wax candles, we can reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources and help protect the environment. It's eco-friendly, sustainable, has a long burn time, and holds fragrance well. Plus, it's a great way to support environmentally responsible and socially conscious businesses and practices. So, next time you're in the market for a new candle or want to make your own, give coco-soy wax a try and enjoy the benefits of a clean-burning, long-lasting, and fragrant candle.
